Already an experienced traveller in Arabia with a genuine interest in its people and a talent for friendliness, Miss Stark made light of bureaucratic red tape, and treated the people she met, both European and Arab , with friendliness and kindness: an approach which facilitated her extensive travels. Her descriptions of the impressive , varied landscape, and colourful tribal inhabitants , paints a revealing picture of the Saudi Arabia of the late 1930s/ early 1940's , and ends with a description of the author's return journey over virtually unknown country in the company of a Sultan's caravan.
