Details of the raid involving Lancaster, Mosquito and Halifax aircraft, the fate of the surviving airmen and the assistance they received from the French Resistance Movement allowing more than half of them to remain at liberty, are recounted by the author, Squadron Leader Jack Curry, who himself flew 30 missions as a Lancaster bomber pilot.
