Formerly a Royal Artillery Sergeant, Baker was posted to the War Office as Staff Captain, and worked for M I9 with Christopher Clayton-Hutton, designer of escape and evasion equipment. Subsequently Baker joined the Phantom Unit in Taranto, moved to Bari for long-range reconnaissance of German positions, and while under the command of Major Airey Neave at Le Mans reached Paris, Belgium and Holland. He was finally captured and imprisoned . Condition: no dust jacket: preliminary pages and end papers lightly foxed: overall clean firm and good used books
