Synopsis: A volume of  full-colour facsimiles,  with English translations and descriptions, recording the people, places, fauna and flora encountered by Sir Francis Drake and his crew during their voyages in the Caribbean circa 1573 -- 1590.   Contained in the Histoire Natural des Indes,  this compilation of watercolours and accompanying text is attributed to one of the French Huguenots of Drakes crew.  Known  as Drakes manuscript, or the Histoire Narural des Indes the document was bequeathed to the Pierrepont Morgan library in New York by Miss Clara S Peck in 1983. Full and half page illustrations with underlining text followed by a section of translations of titles and descriptions include  the following: -- Garlic of the Indies.
