Synopsis: A well illustrated catalogue of Fine English and Foreign Silver and Gold offered for auction by Sothebys on Thursday the 21st of February 1980 in 214 lots,  including the following  : -- a Commonwealth Silvergilt Caudle  Cup and Cover probably by Nicolas Wollaston, London, 1656; a Charles II Tankard, probably by Ralph Leeke, London, 1679;a  King William III Monteith  Bowl, by Robert Timbrell, London, 1698; a George II Silvergilt Epergne , by William Cripps, London, 1751; a George II Cake Basket, by Edward  Wakelin, London, 1752; a George III 22 carat Gold  Irish Freedom Box, Dublin, 1795; a few pieces by Hester Bateman including a coffee pot, London 1787, and a tankard, London 1790; a 79 Piece Canteen of Table Silver, by Paul Storr, London, 1814 -- 18; a Dutch Teapot, by Jav de Vries, Amsterdam, 1738; a Pair of German Table Candlesticks, Berlin, circa 1745; and a pair of Louis XVI Two -Bottle Cruets, by Jacques  Favre , Paris, 1778.  A list of auctioneer's estimates and a list of prices achieved included.  Condition: two small scars and "keep" written in ink to upper front cover: overall very clean and good used books
