Synopsis:The first edition of the novel The Lighter Side of School Life published in 1914 by Ian Hay (Major John Hay Beith, born 1876, school master and soldier, awarded the Military Cross during service with the Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders, and Kitcheners Army in the First World War). His other works include the First Hundred Thousand, (1916)  A Continuation of the First Hundred Thousand (1917) , Carrying On (1917), Tilly of Bloomsbury 1919, and The Right Stuff, The Crimson Cocoanut, A Man's Man, A Safety Match, and Happy-Go-Lucky. He collaborated with PG Woodhouse on theatre adaptations of both author's works. Condition: Corners and spine ends slightly bumped: ownership inscription to front endpaper:  occasional sporadic foxing marks: overall firm, clean and good used books
